A Review On Public Switch Data Networks Information Technology Essay

A Review On Public Switch Data Networks Information Technology Essay A public data network is a network established and operated by a telecommunications administration, or a recognized private operating agency, for the specific purpose of providing data transmission services for the public. A public switched data network (PSDN) is a publicly-available packet-switched network, distinct from the PSTN. A general wide area network used to provide circuit switched data services for commercial users A publicly-available network supporting packet-switched data It is an all digital communications line that allows for the transmission of voice, data, video and graphics, at very high speeds, over standard communication lines It is a computer network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure such as the Internet to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organizations network. It aims to avoid an expensive system of owned or leased lines that can be used by only one organization. A leased line is a service contract between a provider and a customer, whereby the provider agrees to deliver a symmetric telecommunications line connecting two or more locations in exchange for a monthly rent (hence the term lease). It is sometimes known as a Private Circuit or Data Line in the UK. Dial-up Internet access is a form of Internet access that uses the facilities of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) to establish a dialed connection to an Internet service provider (ISP) via telephone lines. The users computer or router uses an attached modem to encode and decode Internet Protocol packets and control information into and from analogue audio frequency signals, respectively. Feature Caller ID, Call Waiting, Voice Mail, and Call Forwarding à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬Need a connection establishment between end nodes. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬Connection is maintained until one of end nodes terminates. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬Connection is dedicated to the communication between two nodes. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬Reduces the number and the total length of the links Data are transmitted in short messages called packets. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬A connection between the two end-nodes is not maintained. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬A node-to-node link can be dynamically shared by many packets. à ®Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€š ¬Example : Public Data Network (PDN) likes X.25, Frame Relay. There are two types of PDN: CSPDN and PSPDN. Mostly used to provide leased-line connections between local area networks and the Internet Circuit switch network work by allowing multiple sessions to run between end-user by simply switchingto the most direct or available path Because a circuit switch dedicates bandwidth to each session, it is less effective from packet-switch. The advantage of circuit switch is transparent, and the path is always open, thus the delay through SCPDN is constant, which is ideal for real time application such as video. One of the disadvantage of CSPDN is they are very wasteful of bandwidth, because if the device is not transmitting data, the bandwidth will always be availalbe. Packet switch provide bandwidth on-demand. Advantage of PSPDN is it saved bandwidth, because they only use the bandwidth when there is data to transmit. All data in Packet switching is transmitted in frame/packets over a trunk, where each packet or frame can belong to a different session. All of the data being sent to the network is marked with a sequence number. This mean PSPDN can correct any data corrupt or loss within a network. Disadvantage of PSPDN is buffering. It builds on groups of standard transmission channels. Bearer channels (or B channels) transmit user information at relatively high speeds, while separate Data channels (or D channels) carry call set-up, signaling and other information. It handles all types of information. Unlike some other digital communications technologies, ISDN handles all types of information voice, data, studio-quality sound, still and moving images. They are all digitized, and transmitted at high speeds in the same flow of data. It handles many devices and many telephone numbers, on the same line. It encapsulates data transfers between two or more networked devices which are not on the same private network so as to keep the transferred data private from other devices on one or more intervening local or wide area networks. There are many different classifications, implementations, and uses for VPNs. Typically, leased lines are used by businesses to connect geographically distant offices. Unlike dial-up connections, a leased line is always active. The fee for the connection is a fixed monthly rate. The primary factors affecting the monthly fee are distance between end points and the speed of the circuit. Because the connection doesnt carry anybody elses communications, the carrier can assure a given level of quality. Dial-up connections to the Internet require no infrastructure other than the telephone network. Dial-up is often the only choice available for rural or remote areas where broadband installations are not prevalent due to low population and demand. Dial-up access may also be an alternative for users on limited budgets as it is offered free by some ISPs, though broadband is increasingly available at lower prices in many countries due to market competition. Network Interface Circuit-switched Packet Switching Packet Switching Circuit-switched Packet Switching Device-to-device interfaces are called reference points Interface R Located between Non-ISDN Terminal Equipment (TE2) and a Terminal Adapter (TA) Interface S/T Located between ISDN user equipment and Network Termination (NT1) equipment Interface U Located between NT1 equipment and an ISDN central office RJ45/RJ11 RJ45/RJ11 RJ45/RJ11 Components/ hardware configuration Consists of telephone lines, fiberoptic cables, microwave transmission links, cellular networks, communications satellites, and undersea telephone cables all inter-connected by switching centers which allows any telephone in the world to communicate with any other. In a LAN packet-switched environment, such as with an Ethernet network, the transmission of the data packets relies on packet switches, routers, and LAN cables using permanent virtual circuits (PVCs). For example: a digital telephone, a GT 70 Series router. TE2- Any non-ISDN device that needs to be used with a Terminal Adapter (TA) to work with ISDN. For example: an analog FAX, PC, or analog telephone. TA-A device that converts non-ISDN communication to ISDN to allow non-ISDN devices to work with ISDN. NT1- A device located between the S/T and U reference points that allows communication between functional devices. Secure VPNs use cryptographic tunneling protocols to provide confidentiality by blocking intercepts and packet sniffing, allowing sender authentication to block identity spoofing, and provide message integrity by preventing message alteration. Leased lines are made up of the following components: a router, usually managed by the service provider, is installed into a customers comms room. The circuit is presented with an RJ45 connector as standard. local loop circuit, , links the router to the service providers local point of presence (POP). Network termination equipment (NTE) is attached to the wall in a comms room and is connected to either a fibre optic or copper local loop circuit. depending upon location, a back haul circuit may be used to link a customer to their service providers point of presence and then onto the internet gateway. This will take place behind the scenes and may run over a third partys national network. Essay --

PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY Patient Confidentiality is where a patient's medical information should be kept confidential. This concept can even be dated back to the Hippocratic Oath. When a patient goes to see his or her doctor, that patient expects to have his or her information kept confidential. They trust the medical practitioner to keep the information between them and related medical practitioners. For instance, you do not want people to find out about a disease you have and you to be affected by their knowledge of this. This establishment of trust along with medical ethical guidelines dictates this to be a duty for the doctors. Also, a person’s medical laws are meant to be kept confidential and not to be shared with anyone as dictated by law. This law is known as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). There are many instances where a medical practitioner can release this information without your consent, but none of these reasons should benefit the physician in any way. When you buy health insurance, you need to authorize the release of medical records to the...

Power of Dance in Music Videos :: Performance Arts Dancing Essays

Power of Dance in Music Videos When VH1 got a panel of â€Å"music industry experts† together to decide on a list of the greatest music videos ever, it was Fatboy Slim’s â€Å"Weapon of Choice† that was the video of choice. Close behind on the list were videos for songs such as Madonna’s â€Å"Vogue† and Jackson’s â€Å"Thriller.† It seems to me that there is a significant theme all of these videos share†¦DANCE! Berkeley had it right. If you want a song to catch on, put it with a moving body. And if the body happens to be the king or queen of pop, that doesn’t hurt. So what if the dancer is a certain Hollywood bad boy wearing TAP SHOES? The equation between Walken and Fatboy Slim’s song results in one of the most thought provoking and fresh musical video ideas ever. There is such a strong power that lies within the combination of the music and dance, especially when it is caught artistically within the eye of a camera. The â€Å"Weapon of Choice† video begins with a normal middle-aged man, Walken, sitting in a hotel lobby. Once the music fades in, the scene comes to life with motion. From then on all rules of expectation are broken. As Michael Abernethy notes, â€Å"It is a fantasy many of us have had, to dance abandon in an environment that screams for civilized behavior†(1). This scene, although not impossible in our everyday lives, is very rare. Once Walken takes his hoofing steps right on out to the balcony and into mid-air this is when the camera begins to works its magic. The camera enables the character to bound across the screen and back again, which gives Walken an unexpected power. The simple concept of fantastically and unexpectedly losing control in a civilized environment is shown in a complex and artistic manner. So, you see, dance choreographed for the camera is a powerful form of expression.

Contemporary poetry and Nature Essay

Technically, â€Å"Contemporary poetry† is written after the start of the 1920`s, especially poetry is connected with modern literary genres, such as modernism and post-modernism. Poetry often involves nature in its description. Though inspiration as a poet truly derives from within, nature can act as a tool to enhance imagination and devices used in our poetry. Poets have for ages seen nature as a reflection of the human experience. Poets in their writing usually use two devices to relate to nature: personification and analogy. Reading modern poems about nature provides a double joy of learning and poetic appreciation. Most modern poets who write about nature are knowledgeable about it. These poets study nature; they don’t merely romanticize it. And the more they study, the more they seem to discover its uniqueness and preciousness – at a very deep core. The types of relationships that human beings have with nature can be sorted out, though these categories often overlap in actual literature because our relationship with nature, like all human relationships, is complex and multi-faceted. But for the sake of analysis, we can look at these relationships between human beings and nature: Man as a part of nature Man apart from nature Man in conflict with nature Man and nature separate but coexistent Man and nature separate and adversarial Nature superior to humanity Nature subordinate to humanity Nature and humanity equals For example, the poem â€Å"Daffodils No More†, written by the contemporary ecopoet Gordon J.L. Ramel. This work is a serious parody of an earlier poem Daffodils written by the English poet William Wordsworth in 1804. In that poem, Wordsworth wrote of the beauty of wild daffodils and how they inspired him. He also mentioned seeing large numbers of this plant: â€Å"Ten thousand saw I at a glance, tossing their heads in sprightly dance.† In ‘Daffodils No More’, Gordon J.L. Ramel draws our attention to the fact that the number of wild daffodils in England has declined greatly since Wordsworth’s day. In addition, the abundance of many other organisms.

Intelligence Community

In evaluating and analyzing the US Intelligence Committee, it would help to look back in history. The Cold War, which emerged in the 1940’s, was the start of the usefulness of the US Intelligence Community in battling against Communism. The result of the Second World War is like glue attached to each country involved therein. By 1943, the effects thereof were already inevitable. Germany, who was the leader of the Axis power, was dealt with full anger. Allied forces became stronger when German invaded Russia.Further, Japan and Germany were continuing then their battle and spread their powers in Europe and Asia. But the suicide of Adolf Hitler around 1945 ended the war. Germany was divided into two—West Germany was invaded by Americans while East Germany was invaded by Russia. This led to tension and anxiety between citizens of Germany. Because of this division, each invader-country practiced their type of economy to their colony.Hence, in West Germany, Capitalist form of economy and East Germany under Russia practiced Communism. After the World War, decolonization and liberation happened to some nations who suffered. These nations as they rise from the battleground seek help especially in their economic status. This situation was taken advantage by Capitalists and Communists powers (Borade, 2009). The US Intelligence Community became popular towards the end of Cold War period. Intelligence is at most the responsibility of the government. But in America, they always connect the success of their Intelligence Community during the Cold War era.   On January 22, 1946, President Truman, due to the lessons learned in Pearl Harbor, created National Intelligence Authority. This group is in-charge of planning the executing the intelligence activities of the country. Under the National Intelligence Authority is the Central Intelligence Group is responsible for disseminating the intelligence activities. The first assignment of CIA was battling against Society Union who is spreading its Communist powers worldwide. During 1950’s and 1960’s, CIA gained its full development. On 1950’s, National Security Agency, under the Department of Defense was created which assumes the some tasks of CIA and military.During the 1960’s a lot of technological advances happened to C IA. As an example, in 1965, the military departments were given the new Defense Attache System. This system includes military men in uniform researching information that will be useful in the military. Other technological advances in the CIA of the Military are: (1) high-speed aircraft and; (2) SR-71. Around 1970, a big reform was made in the Intelligence Community under the presidency of Richard Nixon.A Schlesinger report was made in 1971 and the said report mentioned that the Intelligence Community is already malfunctioning due to its disorganization. For example, the Intelligence Community according to the report was doing redundant activities and these activities were costly. Because of these findings in the report, President Nixon directed the Intelligence Community to manage its budget properly and oversee the execution of projects and activities. After the election of President Bush around in the 1990’s, there are suggestions on how to improve the Intelligence Community . This is also because of several things that happened during that time, especially the end of Cold War. Because of this there were calls for the destruction of Intelligence Community. Some legislators said there is no more need for Intelligence Community. But the Congress proposed that instead, a new structure of the Intelligence Community and across the board reductions in the personnel would be better. (Zegart, 2007). Along with the creation and development of Us Intelligence Community is the US Department of Defense. In 1775, during the American Revolution, US Army, US Marine Corps and US navy were established. Hence, around 1789, the War Department was established. The War Department is what we now called the Department of Defense. Technically, Department of Defense was created in 1947. This was created with the belief that it will regain the trust given to military, which was destroyed during the Second World War. As the new millennium came, new issues were faced by the Department o Defense.Dominant among these issues is the use of budget by the said department. The US Government Accountability Office suggested in 2002, that Department of Defense perhaps should try to partner with other government agencies to minimize their budget. In battling against Communism, CIA has the biggest stake around the world. Communism is like a contagious disease that is growing and spreading throughout the world. An d the CIA has made several steps on war against communism even at the start of the Cold War. Some intellectuals who are exposed to the age of Nazism and Soviet Communism have different views and interpretations about communism. Despite Germany's commitment to democratic reconstruction in the postwar years, its link to liberal and democratic values is weak. Both Nazism and Communisms as intellectuals say promised a new humanity and a new world order. They were examples of what is called utopian thinking. Utopianism assumes a level of social harmony and moral consensus that renders conflict and change abnormal or deviant. Utopias promote, often unwittingly, a hostile attitude towards individualism, pluralism and change. This is also what CIA promises to the people and the reason why they are doing their job. This is the rational behind their series of activities against Communism which started during the Cold War until the present time.

Analysis of Customer Service Management

The lab gained insight into customer service using a hair salon sample survey. A comprehensive description of a data set that separates short-range and long-distance relationships provides insight into customer dissatisfaction with the relationship between employer and consumer. The data is divided into columns and delimited by responses. The near responder is identified as 1 and the distant responder is marked as -1. Evaluation of 1 to 7 based on the following factors: Think about new things, re-cut, keep loyalty, recommend, frank, open, do not want to know I can not say I want feedback, honesty, facts The focus of this research is on the recognition and application of CRM in Indian textile industry. Analyzed the differences between marketing strategy management (MSM), customer value analysis (CVA), customer service management (CSM), and information technology application (ITA) with different characteristics (see Figure 2). We distributed 640 questionnaires in 2008 and collected 194 copies. The total recovery rate was 30.31%. Of the 194 responses to the questionnaire, 68 was invalid and the effective recovery rate was 19.69%. This survey covers both business owners and unit leaders. Owners accounted for 29.37%, senior managers accounted for 48.41%, and middle managers accounted for 22.22%. The sample shows that average business experience is 11-15 years, 53.18%, and 16.98% in 16 years. The educational level of this sample is higher than the university, accounting for 93.65%. In summary, samples are representative and can be used to answer the meaning of the questionnaire. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a way to manage corporate communications with current and potential customers. Especially focus on customer retention and improve customer relationships with customers using data analysis of customer and company history in order to ultimately increase sales. An important aspect of the CRM approach is the CRM system. It is a summary of data from variou s communication channels, such as company website, phone, e-mail, live chat, marketing materials, and more recently social media. Through the CRM approach and the system used to promote it, companies can learn more about their target audience and the best way to satisfy their needs. Companies use customer relationship management (CRM) systems to manage customer relationships. The CRM system provides information to coordinate all sales processes, marketing and service business processes with customers to optimize sales, customer satisfaction, customer retention rate. This, along with SCM, is one of the most common system applications in business value chain analysis (page 90). For details on Pg, please refer to. 285 Some companies have a better understanding of how to make products, services, how to manufacture and how to provide them, so there are cases where performance is superior to other companies. Knowledge Management System (KMS) allows organizations to better manage the proce ss of capturing and applying knowledge and expertise. These systems are available anytime and anywhere to gather all the relevant knowledge and experience of the company and improve business processes and management decisions. They also associate the company with external knowledge sources. challenging

Briefing paper on population aging to inform the new intake of Public Essay

Briefing paper on population aging to inform the new intake of Public Health Officers in Department - Essay Example There are mainly two demographic factors that determined the rate and pace of population aging. These are decline in fertility rate and the decline in mortality rate at older ages. As the rate of both fertility and mortality has declined significantly in the last decade and is expected to show more significant pattern in this century, so the process of population aging maintain the stability concerning the population growth. However, the process of population aging is getting more speed and significance by the fall in morality rate more than the fall in fertility rate. Since the fall in fertility actually prevents the birth of new allies in the earth and the fall in mortality rate of the older persons actually increasing their relative size, so this process ultimately leads to an increase in share of older persons in the world population. This process has continued since 1950 and results in decrease in mortality rate with an increasing pace even for the very old (more than 85 years) population, especially in the context of female population. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, by 2016, the number old population of New South Wales (65 years and more) is projected to outgrow the number of its child population (0-14 years). The Bureau has estimated that share of older population will increase to 20% of the total population of NSW by the end of 2023. We have shown the trend of percentage share of the child group (0-14 years), aged group (65 to 84 years) and more aged group (85 and above) in the total growth of population in case of NSW by the figure-1. However, there may be another factor that has some effect on the aging of the population. This is the consequence of migration. Process of immigration generally reduces the population aging since mainly the younger persons are the immigrants. But on the other hand, the process of emigration tends to
